France''s favourite country cop, Bruno, faces a dangerous threat to the town he polices and the people he protects. Loved by millions, the Dordogne Mysteries are the perfect combination of mystery and escapism.
The event of the Perigord tourist season is to be the re-enactment of the liberation of the historic town of Sarlat from the English in 1370. But it all goes wrong when the man playing the part of the French general is almost killed in the heat of the action.
The immediate question for chief of police Bruno Courreges is was this an accident - or deliberate? The stakes rise when Bruno learns that the man, Kerquelin, was running Frenchelon, the secret French electronic intelligence base nearby, after being recruited from a brilliant Silicon Valley career. His old Silicon Valley colleagues have been invited to stay at the luxurious local chateau of Rouffillac as his guests to enjoy the Sarlat show.
As he investigates, Bruno discovers that Kerquelin''s wound was faked, that he is alive and well and secretly negotiating a massive deal to build a semi-conductor industry in France. But then a whole new and dangerous player emerges, determined to nip the deal in the bud. -
''Warm and wonderful'' KILEY REID ''Musical and revolutionary'' JASON REYNOLDS A queen of punk before her time. A duo on the brink of stardom. A night that will define their story for ever. Opal is a fiercely independent young woman pushing against the grain in her style and attitude, Afro-punk before that term existed. Despite her unconventional looks, Opal believes she can be a star. So when the aspiring British singer/songwriter Neville Charles discovers her one night, she takes him up on his offer to make rock music together. In early seventies New York City, just as she''s finding her niche as part of a flamboyant and funky creative scene, a rival band signed to her label brandishes a Confederate flag at a promotional concert. Opal''s bold protest and the violence that ensues set off a chain of events that will not only change the lives of those she loves, but also be a deadly reminder that repercussions are always harsher for women, especially Black women, who dare to speak their truth. Decades later, as Opal considers a 2016 reunion with Nev, music journalist S. Sunny Shelton seizes the chance to curate an oral history about her idols. Sunny thought she knew most of the stories leading up to the cult duo''s most politicized chapter, but as her interviews dig deeper, a nasty new allegation from an unexpected source threatens everything. Provocative and haunting, The Final Revival of Opal & Nev introduces a bold new name in contemporary fiction and a heroine the likes of which we''ve not seen in storytelling.

"Spectacular . . . drops the reader through one trapdoor into another " A.J. FINN It all starts with an innocuous curiosity: at the Hotel de Verbier, a luxury hotel in the Swiss Alps, there is no Room 622. This anomaly piques the interest of Joel Dicker, Switzerland''s most famous literary star, who flees to the Verbier to recover from a bad breakup, mourn the death of his publisher, and begin his next novel. Before he knows it, he''s coaxed out of his slump by a fellow guest, who quickly uncovers the reason behind Room 622''s erasure: an unsolved murder. The attendant circumstances: a love triangle and a power struggle at the heart of Switzerland''s largest private bank, a mysterious counter-intelligence unit known only as P-30, and a shadowy emigre with more money than God. A Russian doll of a mystery crafted with the precision of a Swiss watch, The Enigma of Room 622 is Joel Dicker''s most diabolically addictive thriller yet. Praise for Joel Dicker "It''s that most engaging of treats, a big, fat, intelligent thriller " SIMON MAYO "Dicker has the first-rate crime novelist''s ability to lead his readers up the garden path" Sunday Express Translated from the French by Robert Bononno

August 2011. Terrorist operative Amer Al Zaroor masterminds and executes the theft of a Pakistani military weapon: a two-hundred-pound nuclear warhead, capable of causing destruction on an unprecedented scale. A chilling transmission is then broadcast to the world, in which Osama Bin Laden pledges to attack a major US city on the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Intelligence indicates that the bomb has been smuggled out of Pakistan and is en route to the US, with Washington or New York the suspected target. However, this is a clever decoy set by Al Zaroor. While the CIA is focussed on thwarting a domestic attack, the weapon moves nearer to its true target, Tel Aviv, which Bin Laden plans to wipe off the map. Back in Washington, agent Brooke Chandler, a once-prodigious field operative, senses this deception. Chandler, who has his own score to settle with Al Qaeda, thinks he knows just how the bomb is being moved, and has an idea how to find it. Chandler must convince his superiors of his conviction, and then find and disable the bomb before it is too late. If he fails, Al Zaroor's plan will succeed, and the Middle East as we know it will be relegated to the annals of history.
